What Do You Do?

what do you do?

What do you do?

A prime example of a lifeless question. It is generic, broad, and provides little value. What do I do? I do a vast array of things. I eat eggs. I drink water.

Instead of giving people a label or a box to put you in, you should be letting them know what you enjoy doing. Therefore, a far more suitable question to ask is: What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about exercise, the outdoors and running our different ventures.

With that said, I thought this might be a good opportunity to bring you all update on what we are currently working on.

5Tales – www.5tales.com

5Tales was born in April 2014 when we started to have people approach asking for help with growing their business, particularly on the digital side of things. It is now a fully operational creative/marketing agency.

We provide businesses clarity on how to establish and grow their brand, then we execute on the strategy together. Our high level strategy work is done by our small team in Australia, while the day to day execution is mostly performed our team in Manila, Philippines.

Oszko – www.getoszko.com

We have not publicly mentioned Oszko before as we have been busy building the product. Oszko is an mens underwear brand for those who enjoy the outdoors and adventure. Our primary customer base will be: mountaineers and rock climbers.

We have been working on the underwear prototype since January 2014. We are looking to launch on Kickstarter in March or April of 2015.

If you are interested in staying up to date with the Oszko journey you can sign up here: http://www.getoszko.com/

We will also be posting a few articles or one super long about our journey to launching on Kickstarter come next year.

Maid2Match – www.maid2match.com.au (Launching mid December ‘14)

This is a new venture we are looking to launch in a few weeks. Maid2Match is a local service business, which offers house cleaning services to people in Brisbane, Australia.

We have built Maid2Match to be a non-traditional cleaning company. Customers will be able to book their house cleaning online in just 60 seconds. Our pricing is flat rate, rather than the usual request a quote model. We will truly care about the customer experience with our 200% money-back guarantee.

What are you passionate about?

  • Justine

Yes, finally someone else who feels the pain that I do. It’s worse when you get this question from family and friends all the time.

    • Toby Schulz

Haha I know the feeling Justine!

  • Brad

I am passionate about building software, my family and golf.

    • Toby Schulz

Love it Brad. I have been getting into golf in the last year, really enjoying it. When you are in a group though it can really extend out.

  • Jamie

Wow 3 very different ventures. I assume the maid business will be a muse while the other two are more full on?

    • Toby Schulz

That is the plan Jamie. Maid2Match will require hands on work for the first few months, then it should just be a few hours a week.

  • Gabriel Zeth

Oszko underwear is interesting. I am very interested in kickstarter, so will be good to see your experience with the platform. Sounds like you guys have been planning it for a while which is good to see, so many people think they just need to be present on Kickstarter and ‘magic’ will happen… Looking forward to support Oszko!

    • Toby Schulz

Definitely know what you mean about people expecting Kickstarter to be some magical platform. We see it as a good way to communicate with our passionate tribe.
